Hi there, friend.
This new project has been a long time in the making. I couldn't decide whether it was for people who love the idea of living a life and doing work that truly matters or whether it was for people navigating the challenges and changes of midlife (about 45 to 65 years of age).
So, for now, I'll make it both! Or either.
My goal is to serve people around the world who consciously think about and pursue creating more peace, passion and purpose in their lives. And making a difference in others and in the world we live in.
I've always found the online and self-improvement bigwigs to be rather intimidating. I like their stuff but always feel somehow that it's beyond me. I've also found that much of the work on wisdom (which is something I really value and think we need a whole lot more of in the world) too easily drifts into woo-woo.
I don't do woo-woo.
Instead, I wanted to provide ideas, insights and inspiration for real people who live real lives. I'll share personal, honest but helpful stories, interview others who've made significant changes in their lives and have something wonderful to say, share fantastic books, and offer simple strategies and approaches for navigating life with greater clarity, freedom and fulfilment.
Who doesn't want that!
How It Will Work
I'll aim to get started with posting two times a week, one in time for Monday and the next for Wednesday/Thursday. They're free.
Most will be short articles. Soon, I will add a podcast, too. Often, I'll suggest activities and exercises you could do to make the most of the material in your own life.
You'll be able to comment on most things, and I'll respond to every message and email I get from you.
I haven't tried to build a community of like minds and hearts before, but I'll be very grateful if that happens out of this.
Prepare for whatever is coming. No doubt it will get more interesting as time moves on!

But, in a nutshell:
I was a professional radio announcer for 10 years. Breakfast shows, mostly.
I've spent 25 years training, coaching and facilitating in the corporate and professional services worlds on leadership, communication skills, presenting to audiences, and influence at work.
In 2023 (at the age of 63), I completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology but also have qualifications in teaching and science.
I'm deeply in love with my second wife, Tess, and count it an honour to be my granddaughter's Grandad and to have three adult children.
I also speak dog fluently.
Subscription Options
Most posts are free.
Soon, I aim to offer paid subscriptions because I want to make this my main work from hereon. I'll need an income, right?
So, you'll be able to choose to:
Keep getting it free - subscribing helps you automatically get it in your inbox,
Support the work by paying a small monthly fee (NZD 12 - less than $3 a week!) or an annual fee (NZD 120 - a 17% discount). For that, you'll receive extra benefits like a short audio motivation each week (like a voicemail from me to you!), access to resources, and a monthly online video-based meet-up to feel connected, encouraged and inspired to live a life and do work that truly matters,
Be a Founder with an annual subscription (NZD 240), which I'll tell you more about later.
That’s It For Now
I'm quietly excited about this because it's work that comes from the heart. It's been brewing for a long time. So, feel free to leave a comment below, or email me at rob@alifethatmatters.com to say hi.
