Wiser Weekly #26
Podcast Ep 24 - Why 'follow your passion' is poor advice, and the chimney problem just got bigger.

In the last Wiser Weekly #25 I told you about my partially successful attempt to remain calm as I found out that my initial renno job for the fireplace inside turned from $2,000 to $10,000 after a leak was found.
I was wrong.
It’s now $18,000.
Calmness left the building. My wife said I sat there upon reading the quote and stared at the opposite wall looking rather white.
She let me be for a while.
Wise woman.
The lesson?
I don’t know. What about shit happens?
Moving on….
Why “Follow your passion” is Poor Advice
Are you tired of hearing "follow your passion" but can't figure out what yours is? You're not alone. Research shows that 80% of people don't know their passion.
Here's the truth: passion isn't found, it's developed.
You build passion by trying things that interest you, getting involved, and seeing what sticks over time. Stop searching for the perfect passion and start experimenting with curiosity. Try things out, see what works, and let passion develop naturally. It's okay if interests fade - that's normal growth.
Wiser Podcast Ep 24
Here’s the latest podcast episode discussing exactly that, including a little French accent and discussing how new seasons in life require us to find new expressions of life. (Dur: 13m 20s)
Here’s a Thought
Apart from leaking stone chimneys, that is!
Seriously, though, some things are just not worth fixing due to their relevance to your current life, their cost in terms of time, money and energy, or perhaps the alignment with your current values.
It may be better, in certain circumstances, to just let them go or walk away and put your attention and resources into something else.
Just sayin….
